This role involves worldwide travel up to 70% for commissioning and troubleshooting of PLC-controlled systems, primarily focusing on cable reels. Key responsibilities include assembling and testing products, performing on-site and remote commissioning, conducting repairs, and providing technical training. The position also requires supporting first-level support with remote diagnostics and detailed documentation. Candidates should have a background in electronics or mechatronics, experience with Siemens TIA Portal, ABB Automation Builder, and fluent German and English skills.
Must have:

How will you make a difference?

  • Worldwide travel: up to 70% mainly to metropolitan areas such as Singapore, Melbourne, Los Angeles, New York, Dubai and more
  • General assembly time is between 7-10 days
  • Assembly of components and/or products according to engineering drawings
  • Testing of products using test/checklists
  • Execution of on-site troubleshooting measures and evaluation of results, if necessary, initiation of countermeasures. If necessary, integrate software additions/extensions into the program on site
  • Execution of remote commissioning
  • Execution and partial planning of national and international service assignments and repairs
  • Development and execution of training measures for own service personnel as well as specific customer trainings.
  • Support of first-level support, remote diagnosis as well as root cause analysis.
  • Creation of service documentation (deployment reports, timesheets etc.) and execution of assembly preparations and follow-ups according to process specifications.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Completed training as an electrician or mechatronics technician, preferably with further training as a technician/master with an electrical background.
  • Good mechanical and/or electrical understanding of mechanical engineering systems
  • Handling / experience with Siemens TIA Portal and Siemens Starter
  • Handling / experience with ABB Automation Builder and Drive Composer
  • Good Microsoft Office and ERP knowledge
  • A high degree of self-organization and independence required
  • Fluent German and English, written and spoken
  • Great willingness to flexibly support challenging projects worldwide
  • Ability to work at heights is required
  • Driver's License Class B

What does your typical workday look like?

When you are on the road, your main tasks include the professional assembly of components and products according to engineering drawings as well as quality control using detailed checklists. In case of problems, you carry out troubleshooting, analyze the results and initiate necessary countermeasures as well as software adjustments.

At our Schüttorf location, you take over remote commissioning, plan service and repair assignments and conduct training for internal personnel and customers. In addition, you work closely with first-level support by performing remote diagnoses and error analyses. Professional documentation as well as careful preparation and follow-up complete your diverse range of tasks.
