Job Description

The Commercial Partnerships Coordinator at UMG provides administrative support to the Commercial Partnerships Team. Responsibilities include managing partner and label support, communication, troubleshooting asset deliveries and revenue strategy changes. The role also involves monitoring new release marketing opportunities, setting up products at retailers, managing partner optimization requests, collecting release assets, communicating sales trends, compiling revenue information, and supporting workflow process improvements. This position requires strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, along with a deep understanding of the music industry and commercial landscape.

How you’ll LEAD:

The Commercial Partnerships Coordinator provides administrative support to the UMG Commercial Partnerships Team(s) in the areas of partner and label support and service. Key support roles include distribution and communication of information, and troubleshooting asset deliveries, take downs, rushes, and any and all revenue strategy changes.

How you’ll CREATE:

  • Communicate/monitor new release and catalogue marketing opportunities based on trending and upcoming releases.

  • Set up UMG’s new products at Physical Retailers and OneStops such as Target and manage physical preorder information across the account base.

  • Manage partner optimization requests and various administration tasks for all label partners, missing content and ingestion of assets, investigate and solve label/artist-related inquiries pertaining to major physical accounts.

  • Collect, organize, solicit missing physical release assets and marketing tools from label partners and UMG backend systems.

  • Communicate sales and revenue trends, success stories and opportunities at applicable partners to UMG and Labels, generating weekly sales reports based on current data.

  • Compile and report key revenue information and account trends.

  • Utilize sales and marketing data to support placement and applicable partner opportunities.

  • UMG New Release Solicitation Guide – Help with the creation of the physical NR guide. Coordinate with UMG labels to receive and enter new release product information

  • Set up UMG products across internal databases including CATAlist and B2B.

  • Process & Strategic Development: Support Release Admin in working with internal product development team to conceptualize and strategize new workflow processes, with goal to enhance, streamline and automate our business.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Office and PowerPoint competency

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including adaptability, personal effectiveness, and ability to establish quick rapport, with emphasis on relationship building with labels and partners.

  • Extremely organized with superior time management skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and produce high-quality results under tight deadlines in a team environment.

  • Capacity to work independently, take initiative and desire to optimize processes and efficiencies.

  • Proactive problem solving by identifying potential issues and taking action to rectify.

  • Propensity to build and maintain relationships with a 'partner first' mindset. Must be comfortable being the point of contact for UMG and multiple label and business partners.

  • Superior organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail and follow through.

  • Must have a general understanding of the commercial landscape and how to optimize profiles and content across multiple platforms

Experience:

  • Knowledge of physical retail, social media, and current platforms of entertainment consumption from a consumer perspective

  • Ability to quickly learn new systems a must, working knowledge and understanding of UMG internal systems a plus.

  • Familiarity with and ability to navigate partner dashboards and data tools, with the ability to understand user behavior through data.

  • Candidates should be natural problem solvers, analytical, creative, innovative, detail-oriented, and resourceful.
