Marks is a brand creation platform seeking a highly collaborative and creative Copywriter for its Marketing Communications team in Toronto. This full-time, hybrid role involves developing high-caliber omni-channel campaign concepts and executions, from OLV scripts to social content and retail communications. The ideal candidate will be a master of written work, tone of voice, and conceptual thinking, working across various clients and categories to engage audiences and drive sales.
Must Have
- Degree or diploma in Advertising Copywriting program or related field
- 4+ years of experience in marketing communications
- Well-rounded portfolio showcasing campaign development in different communication spaces, mediums and approaches

About the Role
This position calls for a highly collaborative team member with a creative spark, sophisticated writing abilities, strong communication skills, passion, and self-motivation. You will be tasked with thoughtful problem-solving, that leads into high-caliber campaign concepts and executions, informed by a strategic framework and narrative.
You’ll work with your team to break down complex client asks, conceptualize big ideas and then bring that idea to life across different touchpoints and mediums – presenting and selling internally and to clients, with passion and energy.
You are a master of the written work & tone of voice, matched only by your clever conceptual thinking that addresses client needs and business goals. You are omni-channel to the core – as comfortable creating for social and digital as you are with retail programs, instore communications, traditional media and beyond. You help to set and maintain the quality bar for the creative product of the company at a level that is amongst the top tier within the industry.
You’ll work and consult with teams across our entire Marks ecosystem on an exciting range of clients and categories, including toys, food & beverage, beer, wine, spirits, technology, personal care, beauty, retail, and many more.
On any given day you might
- Work with your creative team partners to develop overarching campaign ideas and narratives
- Craft innovative insights and idea statements to connect the “why” of concepts to a strategic framework
- Create individual executions within an existing campaign – everything from OLV scripts to social content, retail communications and more.
- Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and internal reviews
- Work with our strategy team to define and hone a brand’s tone of voice across multiple touchpoints, including packaging and brand design
- Shape and craft compelling presentation narratives to support and sell through creative concepts
- Keep up to date with the latest trends and innovations – exploring ways to leverage AI tools to advance our work.

You Bring

- A roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-it-done attitude
The Ontario pay range for this position is $70,000 CAD to $80,000 CAD annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's experience, skills, knowledge, and other job-related factors.
