The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team at BlackRock is seeking an Associate-level RFP Writer & Consultant for its Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) business. This role involves managing the end-to-end RFP and DDQ process, crafting high-quality, customized responses for institutional clients globally. The successful candidate will collaborate with various internal teams, maintain content libraries, and contribute to strategic consulting initiatives to enhance client engagement and business development efforts for the $350B OCIO business. Strong analytical, writing, and project management skills are essential.
Must Have
- Manage and deliver high-quality, customized responses to RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs.
- Write clear, compelling, and accurate responses tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with investment strategists, client servicing, and other teams.
- Maintain and enhance the RFP content library and database.
- 3-5 years of experience in asset management, preferably in RFP writing, investment consulting, or client servicing.
- Strong understanding of investment products and the investment outsourcing industry.
- Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in RFP software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders under tight deadlines.
- Postgraduate (MBA) from a premier business school.

The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. Position Summary
This role sits within MASS’ Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) business which manages over $350B in assets for institutional globally. We are looking for a Consultant & RFP Writer that will support the MASS’ OCIO business development efforts by managing the end-to-end RFP and DDQ process. This role is responsible for crafting high-quality, customized responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs), and other client-facing documents, while also contributing to strategic consulting initiatives to drive deeper client engagement for the outsourcing business.
The candidate should possess strong analytical, writing and comprehending skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with a wide range of partner teams and stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess outstanding attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and have a passion for thinking critically on how we respond to client RFPs/ DDQs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver high-quality, customized responses to RFPs, RFIs, and DDQs across client segments (Pensions, Family offices, E&F, healthcare etc.)
- Write clear, compelling, and accurate responses tailored to client needs and aligned with firm positioning
- Collaborate with investment strategists (CIOs), client servicing, institutional client business teams, business management, manager research and other teams to gather accurate and timely information
- Maintain and enhance the RFP content library and database to ensure consistency, accuracy, and regulatory alignment
- Support strategic projects such as competitor benchmarking, narrative development, and client pitch support in partnership with lead CIOs
- Track RFP win/loss metrics and provide timely insights to improve future submissions
- Partner with consultant relationship team (GCR) and solutions group (CSG) to maintain a pipeline of upcoming projects
- Ensure all client-facing materials reflect the firm’s brand, investment philosophy, and compliance standards
Experience / Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in asset management, preferably in RFP writing, investment consulting, or client servicing
- Strong understanding of investment products (e.g., mutual funds, ETFs SMAs, alternatives etc.), investment outsourcing industry and client trends
- Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills
- Proficiency in RFP software and Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders under tight deadlines
- Flexible, responsive, and self-starting personality. Demonstrated experience working both independently and as part of a team in a highly collaborative, global environment
- Technical skills such as Power BI, Tableau, Python and SQL will be a plus
- Postgraduate (MBA) from a premier business school
- Progress toward CFA or FRM certifications is a plus
