As our Corporate Counsel for Global Data Centers, you'll provide critical legal guidance and strategic insights to our commercial operations. You'll play a key role in negotiating high-value, high-complexity agreements with our customers and providing day-to-day legal support for our global data center business. Must have:

  • Coordinate with external legal counsel on disputes and claims, managing costs.
  • Implement process improvements for best practices and efficiencies in Data Center business.
  • Foster collaborative relationships as a business partner with global legal and cross-functional teams.

We are seeking a talented Corporate Counsel to support our rapidly growing global data center business.

About the Role:

As our Corporate Counsel for Global Data Centers, you'll provide critical legal guidance and strategic insights to our commercial operations. You'll play a key role in negotiating high-value, high-complexity agreements with our customers and providing day-to-day legal support for our global data center business. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with diverse professionals worldwide and contribute to legal strategies in a fast-paced, innovative industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Legal Counsel: Provide commercially focused legal advice to regional management, sales, procurement, and support functions on a wide range of legal and strategic matters within our global data center business.
  • Complex Contract Negotiation: Support the negotiation and drafting of high-value commercial agreements (sales and procurement), including customer contracts, licensing/reseller agreements, and vendor/supplier agreements.
  • Issue Resolution & Risk Mitigation: Proactively manage legal issues arising from commercial transactions, advising the business on contract implementation and interpretation, and developing creative solutions to contracting challenges.
  • External Counsel Coordination: Coordinate with external legal counsel on various matters, including contentious disputes and claims, ensuring effective cost management and reporting.
  • Process Enhancement: Identify and support the implementation of process improvements to drive best practices and efficiencies within the Data Center business, helping to build and improve processes that address risk while maintaining business flexibility.
  • Business Partnership: Act as a conscientious business partner, fostering collaborative relationships with global legal team members and other cross-functional teams.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education & Experience: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, active bar admission in at least one U.S. state, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Data Center Expertise: Previous experience in the data center industry is advantageous (but not essential), with a grounding in commercial law being an advantage.
  • Legal Acumen: Background in commercial, corporate, or real estate law, with excellent drafting and negotiating skills for business-to-business transactions.
  • Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to develop contract risk mitigation strategies and innovative solutions to complex contracting challenges.
  • Adaptability & Drive: High degree of initiative, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deals/projects under varying time pressures, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Influential Communicator: Confidence in advising and influencing stakeholders, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships across diverse teams and functions.
  • Client-Centric Mindset: A strong commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and developing trusted advisor relationships with business leadership.
  • Tech Savvy (Plus): Prior private practice or in-house experience, preferably with a technology-oriented company, and knowledge of privacy law is a plus.

Location:

This is a fully remote position within the USA, with a preference for candidates located on the East Coast or central region of the US. Travel is not required.
