This role involves developing logic design, RTL coding, and simulation for a CPU, contributing to architecture and microarchitecture features. The engineer will write RTL, optimize logic for power, performance, area, and timing goals, and ensure design integrity for physical implementation. They will also review verification plans, implement corrective measures for failing tests, document microarchitectural specs, and support SoC customers. The ideal candidate will have experience with x86 Core processor architecture, Power Management, Execution Unit, Cache, and memory features, and Static tools.
Must have:
  • Master's degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience in RTL Design.
  • Good knowledge of Verilog/System Verilog language.
Good to have:
  • Understanding of Digital Design Principles and x86 Core processor architecture.
  • Experience in Power Management, Execution Unit, Cache, and memory features.
  • Experience with Static tools (UPF, lint, integration, CDC, RDC).

Job Description: 

  • Develops the logic design, register transfer level (RTL) coding, and simulation for a CPU required to generate cell libraries, functional units, and the CPU IP block for integration in full chip designs.
  • Participates actively in the definition of architecture and microarchitecture features of the CPU being designed.
  • Applies various strategies, tools, and methods to write RTL and optimize logic to qualify the design to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals as well as design integrity for physical implementation.
  • Reviews the verification plan and implementation to ensure design features are verified correctly and resolves and implements corrective measures for failing RTL tests to ensure correctness of features.
  • Documents micro architectural specs (MAS) of the CPU features being designed. Supports SoC customers to ensure highquality integration of the CPU block.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a master's degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering with at least 7 or more years of experience or a bachelor's degree with at least 9 years of experience in RTL Design.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Good understanding of Digital Design Principles and x86 Core processor architecture. Understanding of interaction of computer hardware with Firmware/Software is a plus.
  • Experience in the domain of Power Management, Execution Unit, Cache, and memory features is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Verilog/System Verilog language is a must.
  • Experience with Static tools (UPF, lint, integration, CDC, RDC) is preferred.
  • Candidate should demonstrate excellent Self-motivation, effective communication, problem solving, excellent cross-site communication and teamwork skills.
