Job Summary
Sphere Entertainment Co. is seeking a Creative Director with a strong background in art direction, design, and storytelling to lead the development of original content and branded experiences for Sphere's digital platforms. This role involves driving the visual identity of Sphere’s Art & Promo programming, creating high-impact art and promotional content, and collaborating with internal and external teams. The ideal candidate is a hands-on creative leader with a sharp aesthetic, strong motion instincts, and experience in digital campaigns and content for large-scale screens, thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Must Have
- Lead creative development and art direction for the Exosphere and other media features.
- Concept and direct a wide range of visual storytelling, from ambient and editorial content to social moments, branded campaigns, and cultural activations.
- Collaborate with internal creative teams and external partners to ensure alignment with Sphere’s brand voice, audience goals, and programming cadence.
- Help build and maintain Sphere’s ongoing content library, including rituals, seasonal programming, original art, and co-branded moments.
- Work closely with producers, designers, motion teams, and strategists to bring ideas to life across formats.
- Contribute to pitches, creative reviews, and executive presentations with clarity and confidence.
- Provide visual guidance, feedback, and direction to designers, art directors, and motion artists across active projects.
- Stay informed on design trends, technology shifts, and culture at large to keep Sphere’s creative work timely and relevant.
- 10+ years of directing experience in a creative studio, developing innovative and engaging experiential concepts across digital and physical platforms.
- A strong portfolio showing creative range and originality across visual storytelling, motion, branded content, and experiential work.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams from concept through execution.
- Excellent design instincts and strong proficiency in visual composition, storytelling, typography, and motion.
- Advanced proficiency in relevant design software (ex. Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, After Effects, 3D and/or realtime tools).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to balance creative ambition with technical execution and production realities.
- Experience managing or mentoring designers and collaborating closely with project managers, technologists, and strategists.
- Comfort working in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities and multiple concurrent projects.
