The Cyber Defense Analyst - II is responsible for enhancing the capabilities of the Cyber Defense Team by designing content and developing automations. This role involves producing well-commented code, building and operating security applications, and developing intercommunications between systems. The analyst will identify and propose improvements to the organization's security posture and contribute to the continual improvement of Security, Orchestration, Automation, and Response processes.
Must have:
  • Produce well commented code and clearly articulated documentation
  • Build, automate, and operate security applications
  • Develop and modify intercommunications between applications, systems, and data to add value to the CDT
  • Identify, propose and initiate improvements to the organization's security posture
  • Contribute towards the continual-improvement of our Security, Orchestration, Automation, and Response processes and documentation
  • Recommend, help implement, and test improved threat response capabilities
Good to have:
  • Playbook development experience
  • HTML and JavaScript experience

The Cyber Defense Analyst - II position is responsible for building efficiencies by designing content and developing automations to enhance the capabilities of the Cyber Defense Team..

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Produce well commented code and clearly articulated documentation
  • Build, automate, and operate security applications
  • Develop and modify intercommunications between applications, systems, and data to add value to the CDT
  • Identify, propose and initiate improvements to the organization's security posture
  • Contribute towards the continual-improvement of our Security, Orchestration, Automation, and Response processes and documentation
  • Recommend, help implement, and test improved threat response capabilities

Skills and Software Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot new problems as they arise
  • High level critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple goals
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • 1 to 2 years of automation/scripting experience using Python (Intermediate Level)
  • 1-3 Years of experience in a L1/Related Cyber Security Experience.
  • Experience with GIT or a related version control system or workflow
  • Playbook development experience is a plus
  • HTML and JavaScript experience is a plus
