Job Description

The Cyber Security Specialist (GRC) at CAE is responsible for managing and enhancing the customer's security governance, risk management, and compliance framework. This role involves ensuring adherence to Defense security regulatory requirements, developing security policies aligned with business objectives, conducting regular risk assessments, and implementing controls to safeguard digital assets. The specialist will also perform security audits, identify cyber security risks, manage vulnerabilities, detect threats, monitor security event logs, and develop/maintain Cyber Security Assessment and Authorization documentation.
Good To Have:
  • Industry certifications like CISA, ISO Lead Implementer / auditor or similar
Must Have:
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and frameworks as per regulatory requirements
  • Perform regular security audits
  • Identify cyber security risks and implement security controls
  • Vulnerability Management and Threat Detection
  • Security Event log monitoring
  • Develop and maintain Cyber Security Assessment and Authorization (Accreditation) documentation suite
  • Assess security control effectiveness
  • Bachelor’s degree in cyber security / information technology OR related experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in Cyber security risk management / policy development/ governance
  • Strong knowledge of security audit, documentation development, vulnerability management and security event monitoring
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to details
  • Eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Défense security clearance

Candidate Responsibilities

The Cyber Security Specialist (GRC) is responsible for managing and improving customer’s security governance, risk management and compliance framework. This role ensures adherence to Defense security regulatory requirements, develop security policies meeting business objectives, conducts regular risk assessments and implement controls to protect customer’s digital assets.

Critical responsibilities

  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and frameworks as per regulatory requirements.
  • Perform regular security audits
  • Identify cyber security risks and implement security controls.
  • Vulnerability Management and Threat Detection
  • Security Event log monitoring
  • Develop and maintain Cyber Security Assessment and Authorization (Accreditation) documentation suite.
  • Assess security control effectiveness.

Knowledge & Skill requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in cyber security / information technology OR related experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Cyber security risk management / policy development/ governance.
  • Strong knowledge of security audit, documentation development, vulnerability management and security event monitoring.

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Défense is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Défense security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
