Join a dedicated team of Data Center Engineering Program Managers at Apple, responsible for aligning multiple teams on key product objectives and driving new product development from concept to ship. This role requires experience in guiding complex hardware development, distilling tradeoffs, and facilitating critical product decisions. You will enable efficient delivery of high-quality systems by defining system hardware, features, and schedules. Responsibilities include managing program baselines, active investigations, system schedules, critical paths, and technical risks. You will also identify and highlight engineering risks, partner with experts for mitigation, and clearly communicate project status, issues, and concerns to the core team and senior leadership.
Must have:
  • BS degree in Engineering
  • Led 2+ product development cycles for systems with hardware/software integration
  • Proven Program Management or Hardware Engineering experience
  • Experience leading multiple teams in new product development

Job Details

Come join a dedicated team of Data Center Engineering Program Managers! We are responsible for aligning multiple teams across Apple on key product objectives and driving new product development, from concept review to first customer ship. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about contributing to the creation of complex and innovative products, is experienced in guiding complex programs through the hardware development process, and has the ability to distill tradeoffs down to key factors to help facilitate critical product decisions. Our team is responsible for enabling multiple teams to efficiently deliver high-quality, complex systems by collaborating with various people to define system hardware, features, and schedule baseline. In this role, you will need to understand the complexities of hardware and software system development and be able to integrate all of it into a program plan and schedule that you then efficiently implement! You will lead program baseline and active investigations, system schedule, critical paths, and technical risks. You will also be responsible for identifying and highlighting engineering risk areas, team-up with engineering domain experts to develop mitigation paths forward, and clearly communicating project status, top issues, and customer concerns to the project core team, along with senior leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system hardware, features and schedule baseline
- Manage program baseline and active investigations, system schedule, critical paths and technical risks
- Identify and highlight engineering risk areas and partner with engineering subject matter experts to develop mitigation paths forward
- Clearly communicate project status, top issues and escalations to the project core team along with senior leadership
  • BS degree in Engineering required
  • Directly led at least 2 product development cycles for a System with hardware and software integration involved
  • Proven experience in Program Management or Hardware Engineering and leading multiple teams in new product development
  • BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Leadership skills and ability to inspire team members
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated critical thinking capabilities
  • Understands and deals well with rapid development cycles and constant change; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty
