Job Description

This Technical Program Manager role at Google focuses on the Global Submarine Networks (GSN). Responsibilities include reviewing, designing, implementing, and managing the Layer 2-3 IP Secure Data Communications Network (DCN) and Operational Support Systems (OSS), along with other cloud-based applications and systems. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders in the GSN Network Operations Center (NOC) to develop system operating processes, monitoring and troubleshooting network and OSS performance, and working with technology suppliers and security teams to ensure high reliability. Leading network security planning and operations for the GSN internal communications network is also a key responsibility. A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, plus 8 years of program or project management experience are required. Preferred qualifications include extensive experience in network operations, OSS, network design, and security, particularly with Cisco technologies and SD WAN. Project management in CI/CD environments and negotiation experience are also highly valued.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience in project management in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environments.
  • Experience in negotiating agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders supporting GSN's Network Operations center (NOC) to develop systems operating processes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network and OSS systems performance.
  • Work with technology suppliers, security, risk and compliance teams to ensure Google maintains the highest levels of reliability in respect of Operating Systems and Network.
  • Lead network Security Planning and Operations for GSN Internal Communications Network.
