As Manager, Data Engineering, you will lead a team of data engineers within the Data Products & Platform team, driving the design, development, and implementation of data products. This leadership role requires a collaborative spirit and a passion for delivering excellence.


This position reports to the Senior Manager of Guest Insights and Activation.

You Will:

  • Lead teams who can craft, build, and improve the framework and processes that handle consumer data, ensuring freshness, completeness, security, and privacy

  • Drive the transition of existing data products to a new identity structure, minimizing disruption to ongoing business activities during the transition

  • Integrate new data sources for marketing and Guest activation use cases, ensuring delivery of business value and activation readiness

  • Maintain productive engagement with partners to ensure solutions are right-sized and strategically aligned to the overall data strategy and architecture

  • Develop and maintain data quality standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data throughout its lifecycle

  • Continuously optimize performance and efficiency of existing data infrastructure, proactively identifying and addressing bottlenecks or issues

  • Develop and deliver on timelines, budgets, acceptance criteria, and service levels

  • Keep in touch with the latest industry trends and technologies, implementing standard processes for data management

  • Ensure your team is delivering solutions with a high degree of quality, stability, scalability, and maintainability

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience with the delivery of data solutions, including directly leading engineering resources and studios

  • Deep technical expertise in dbt, Python & SQL

  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills, able to critically think through and elegantly address logic problems with code

  • Ability to navigate in the gray easily and work independently to guide the development, creation, and delivery of strategies and roadmaps

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with rapidly evolving priorities and requirements

  • Deep understanding of consumer data principles, including data governance, privacy, and security, with a focus on how customer data is used for marketing and activation purposes

  • Excellent communication and partnership skills with the ability to interface and influence across the organization, including Executives

  • Strong project leadership skills, can handle the creation of program and project plans across multiple initiatives and studios

  • Proven experience leading complex data migration and integration projects, including data mapping, transformation, and validation

  • Experience with marketing technologies and platforms used for customer segmentation, targeting, and personalization

  • Experience working in the hospitality, travel, or entertainment industry

  • Solid grasp and believer of agile development approaches, including DevOps concepts

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related equivalent experience. 

Preferred Education:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA/Anaheim, CA is $184,300 - $247,100 per year and in Seattle, WA is $193,100 - $258,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
