Job Description

This position is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining data science solutions with particular emphasis on data processing, algorithms, and machine learning methods. The scope of the role includes both existing software products and new products in development. The ideal candidate has a strong commitment to excellence, confidence in their data science expertise, started to take initiative and works with less supervision, is a creative problem solver, and a team player. Key responsibilities include working on various data science projects, participating in the full software development life-cycle, and developing, documenting, testing, and debugging machine learning models in production environments.
Must have:
  • Work on various data science projects with minimal supervision.
  • Participate in the full software development life-cycle.
  • Help to develop, document, test, and debug machine learning models in production environments.
  • Follow and help enforce our development best practices and standards.
  • Actively participate or sometimes take the lead in Agile ceremonies.
  • Provide assistance to less experienced team members.
  • Engage with engineering and MLOPs teams to understand requirements and constraints for multiple products.
  • Collaborate with other data scientists and engineers within a small team structure.
  • Continually pursue independent exploration of related data science topics and technologies.
  • Become a domain expert in one cybersecurity application area.
  • Acquire technical expertise on the development of ML models including feature-engineered, LLMs, and generative models.
  • Write technical documentation of small-scale components based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • At least 4 years of experience in data science roles is required.
  • Strong academic background (PhD program in a technical field) is an adequate substitute for a few years of industry experience.
  • Solid experience developing data science solutions in at least one major programming language such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Solid knowledge of Data Science techniques and methodologies and demonstrated ability to apply these methodologies in active projects.
  • Some Machine Learning (ML) background and experience in at least one application area such as NLP, Computer Vision, or Generative AI.
  • Successfully developed and deployed multiple ML models in industry.
  • Comfortable with Python-based frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other data scientists and engineers within a small team.
  • Some experience assisting or providing mentorship to junior data scientists.
  • Good communication and presentation skills. Ability to convey complicated technical topics to non-technical people both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability and critical thinking skill with various types of real-world data.
  • Experience with the Agile/Scrum project development methodology.
