This Digital Display Systems Operator (DDSO) position provides operations and maintenance support for Tornado P4 SAKITS Display/Debriefing Systems. Responsibilities include loading programs, performing subsystem tests, scheduled maintenance, and assisting RSAF or aircrews with replay/debriefing. The role requires intimate knowledge of ACMI program systems, maintaining mission records, and ensuring security measures. The DDSO will also assist with P4 SAKITS operations and maintenance, and undergo training in ACMI pod maintenance.
Must have:
  • Provide operations and maintenance support for Tornado P4 SAKITS Display/Debriefing Systems.
  • Have intimate knowledge of all systems operating for and with the ACMI program.
  • Load programs for operation and test.
  • Perform subsystem tests and scheduled maintenance on Display/Debrief systems.
  • Load pre-mission exercise data into Data Transfer Device (DTD).
  • Operate graphics terminals during live exercises.
  • Provide technical assistance for replay/debriefing.
  • Maintain mission tapes and event logs.
  • Ensure maintenance of proper security measures for safeguarding classified information.
  • College qualification in Technical related field or equivalent technical education and military experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to comply with company standard practice as it applies to field assignments.
  • Ability to adapt to a remote and/or a foreign environment.
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, Computer Engineering or equivalent concentrations.
  • Saudi-Government-recognized Certificate of Arabic/English Bilingual Proficiency (STEP, TOEFL or equivalent).

Job Details

JOB SUMMARY:

This position, Digital Display Systems Operator (DDSO) shall provide operations and maintenance support for the Tornado P4 SAKITS Display/Debriefing Systems in accordance with the applicable technical documentation. The debriefing stations will be located in the main RSAF Debriefing Theatre or RSAF Fighter Squadron buildings located on the individual RSAF base.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The DDSO is the first line of contact with the end user’s operational squadrons and they, therefore, are expected to be neat, polite, and helpful to the end user squadron personnel at all times when at work.
  • The DDSO shall have an intimate knowledge of all systems that operate for and with the ACMI program. This includes, but is not limited to, Cubic Transportable Ground Subsystems (TGS), Transportable Ground Subsystems with Live Monitor (RTS-LM), Portable Ground Subsystems (PGS) systems.
  • Load programs for operation and test.
  • Perform subsystem test to assess operational readiness prior to Display/Debrief system use.
  • Perform all scheduled maintenance and inspections on the installed Display/Debrief systems Fixed Systems.
  • Perform all scheduled maintenance and inspections on the installed Display/Debrief systems, including PGS.
  • Load all pre-mission exercise data into the Data Transfer Device (DTD).
  • Maintain a control log of DTD issue to and receipt from aircrews.
  • Operate the graphics terminals during live exercises and assist with display and control operations.
  • Provide technical assistance to RSAF or aircrews in setting up for replay/debriefing.
  • Maintain and store records of mission tapes.
  • Maintain a mission event log with specific, concise, and pertinent data entered under the following headings: date, time, mission/event, remarks, and operator.
  • For mission replays, "mission replay" should be entered. Any system problems encountered during the aforementioned events shall be briefly described in the remarks column in sufficient detail to readily interpret the event. Any aircraft that does not track or function properly shall be noted and this information promptly passed to the ACMI pod shop for follow-up pod testing. The Computer Operator / Technician shall file all filled logbooks into the technical library. The Computer Operator / Technician shall have the logbooks readily available for on-site RSAF evaluations. The Computer Operator / Technician shall interface directly with the RSAF regarding mission sortie effectiveness. Reasons for partially successful or unsuccessful missions and the system's operating status/conditions will be noted for the record. This data is required for the monthly status reports.
  • The DDSO is the first line in ensuring the maintenance of proper security measures for safeguarding all classified information (if applicable), equipment, facilities and materials under Cubic control. In cases of suspected security issues with classified information, the DDSO shall immediately inform their Chain of Command, including the Site Lead and the Program Manager or the Program Manager’s delegate.
  • Know and follow all security procedures for opening and closing the Display/Debrief terminals.
  • Generate exercise status printouts as required by the RSAF. When a hard copy printout is required, the Computer Operator / Technician shall activate the display to enable printing of the specified display(s).
  • Perform additional operations duties as directed by the Site Supervisor
  • Assist as required with P4 SAKITS operations and maintenance. When not actively engaged in brief, debrief, or schedule maintenance functions for the Display/Debrief systems, the DDSO is expected to be in the pod maintenance shop undergoing training in ACMI pod maintenance.

Education and qualifications

Essential:

  • College qualification in Technical related field; or equivalent technical education and military experience

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, Computer Engineering or equivalent concentrations
  • Saudi-Government-recognized Certificate of Arabic/English Bilingual Proficiency (STEP, TOEFL or equivalent)

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

NOTES:

  • All Expat Candidates are required to hold a Current or Active U.S. Secret Clearance and are required to submit a State Police Background Check Certificate.
  • All Saudi candidates must obtain RSAF Security Clearance with a KSA Police Background Check Certificate.
