Marks is a brand design and experience agency, part of SGS & Co, with 800+ people across 16 studios and 10 countries. The agency focuses on strategy, innovation, design, adaptation, and integrated marketing communications to build brand momentum. This role is for a hands-on Design Lead and creative steward, responsible for overseeing the creative process from concept to artwork release. Key duties include interpreting brand guidelines, supporting creative development, art directing, ensuring high-quality design, and maintaining legal compliance. The role requires strong internal partnerships and accountability for work quality.
Must have:
  • Hands-on design lead and creative steward for category brands.
  • Oversee and lead the creative process from inception to artwork release.
  • Interpret concept and/or brand guidelines, brand experience, packaging and retail design.
  • Support Creative Director, Design Director in creative development.
  • Art direct and design to achieve optimal creative solutions.
  • Be the creative authority for brand style guides; adhere to and extend when needed.
  • Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely completion of high-quality design.
  • Understand and execute artwork adhering to legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain positive dialogue with team members, setting clear expectations.
  • Contribute to and lead kick-off and pre-production meetings.
  • Prioritize workload, seek answers, and meet deadlines.
  • Create strong internal partnerships and collaborate across clients and Marks/SGSco.
  • Take ownership and be accountable for work quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on design lead and creative steward for category brands and the creative conduit for your assigned team.
  • Oversee and lead the creative process from inception to artwork release.
  • Interpret concept and/or brand guidelines, brand experience, packaging and retail design through to artwork release.
  • Support Creative Director, Design Director in creative development for all assigned category brands.
  • Art direct and design with the goal of achieving the optimal creative solutions.
  • Be the creative authority for brand style guides. Adhere to style guide and extend when needed. Challenge status quo, when needed, and identify opportunities to enhance, when possible.
  • Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely completion of high-quality design.
  • Understand and execute artwork that adheres to legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain a positive and open dialogue with team members so they are fully informed throughout the project life-cycle. Set clear expectations.
  • Able to contribute to and lead a kick off and pre-production meeting on the evaluation of new projects.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, proactively seek answers to questions, and meet assigned deadlines.
  • Create strong and effective internal partnerships and collaborate across clients and Marks/SGSco.
  • Take ownership and be accountable for the quality of the work.
