You will report to a studio Development Director.
As a DevOps Software Engineer at Maxis, you will
- Collaborate with the development teams and use industry-standard CI/CD solutions to build pipelines that automate common operational tasks
- Write applications to monitor service health, perform log analysis, and automate recovery
- Apply software engineering best practices across the development lifecycle, including agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Work towards operational excellence by identifying opportunities to automate away manual processes.
- Partner with the development team technical director on build engineering to understand team requirements, evaluate options, develop roadmaps and ensure needs are addressed in a complex, multi-partner environment
- Provide Critical support when changes are pushed to dev lines for the game teams
- Maintain documentation of systems configurations and procedures, including runbooks for DevOps tasks.
- Evaluate and adopt technologies that improve the team efficiency and platform capabilities
- Work with a global team to implement technologies and support integration
- Analyze incidents in a postmortem process to ensure preventative measures
Qualifications

- Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Software engineer.
- Experience using Perforce or Git-based workflows for code management
- Experience with Python, C#, or other scripting languages
- Understand software configuration management and release management.
- Well-versed in the use and administration of CI/CD frameworks, Jenkins or others
- Experience setting up and deploying a CI/CD environment, a 'large-scale' environment. (being a sole or, tech lead in the process)
- Experience working with ticketing systems such as JIRA.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation for internal and external use.
- Passion for automation and workflow efficiency.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES
- British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
- $96,400 - $133,900 CAD
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
