Job Description

This Digital Content Controller position supports the production and quality assurance of digital book products for Taylor and Francis’ online platforms. The role involves producing XML-based online products, assessing the quality of deliverables from vendors, transforming XML using technologies like XSLT and XPath, and providing technical support for digital product queries. The position will also involve developing and maintaining data processes, assisting with analysis, design, and evaluation of process improvements, tracking trends, taking ownership of projects, and providing support for digital product queries. This is a maternity cover position for approximately 9-12 months.
Must have:
  • Knowledge and experience of using XML or markup language.
  • Working knowledge of XML technologies, such as XSLT and XPath.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize varied workload.
Good to have:
  • Working knowledge of Python and associated libraries.
  • Working knowledge of pulling data from databases.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools and software.

If you agree, then we’d love to hear from you We are currently recruiting for a Digital Content Controller for the Production Department within our Advanced Learning department. This position will support the production and quality assurance of digital book products for Taylor and Francis’ online platforms. This role will also provide technical support for these products and help develop and maintain data processes, for example, XML to HTML conversions. This position is a maternity cover position for approximately 9-12 months. This role will be hired on a balanced working basis, with the successful candidate attending our office in Milton Park, Oxfordshire (OX14 4RN) at least three days per week. You must have the right to live and work in the UK. Closing date for applications 4th July 2025.  Responsibilities include:
  • Production of XML based online products for online platforms
  • Assessing quality of delivery from vendors and providing feedback including tracking of KPIs for each vendor
  • Transforming XML from one tagging structure to another using XML technologies
  • Assisting with analysis, design and evaluation of process improvements, including drafting and proofing guidelines and communications
  • Tracking trends to allow identification of blind spots, opportunities, and priorities
  • Taking ownership of certain projects and areas of work
  • Providing support for digital product queries
What we are looking for:
  • Knowledge and practical experience of using XML or other mark up language
  • Working knowledge of XML technologies, for example, XSLT and XPath
  • Working knowledge of Python and associated libraries would be an advantage
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Working knowledge of pulling data from databases
  • Be highly organised and adaptable, offering both a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to perceive the broader context
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be comfortable building relationships with colleagues from varied levels and departments
  • Be comfortable working with unfamiliar systems and processes and able to gain working knowledge swiftly
  • Be able to think critically and to exercise logical reasoning skills
  • Be able to multi-task and prioritise a varied workload
  • Familiarity with reporting tools and software would be an advantage
