Job Description

The Director, Architectural Design provides strategic leadership for Raising Cane’s global architectural design standards and prototype documentation. This role leads a team of Design Managers and oversees relationships with internal and external consultants, ensuring consistent, efficient, and high-quality design solutions across all phases of the restaurant design process. The Director drives enterprise-wide standardization, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to support the brand’s rapid growth.
Must have:
  • Provide strategic leadership for the Domestic NTV Design team, setting vision, priorities, and performance goals
  • Oversee development, standardization, and rollout of architectural design details, FF&E, and support tools for implementation
  • Lead change management for design standards, including quarterly updates to guidelines, templates, specifications, and protocols
  • Manage cross-functional projects to completion with a focus on operational efficiency, scalability, and standardization
  • Guide adaptation of base design standards for prototypical buildings and regional requirements
  • Oversee certification and training programs for external consultants, ensuring quality and consistency in deliverables
  • Apply analytics, lessons learned, and best practices from prior projects to drive continuous improvement in cost, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Partner with leadership on strategic design initiatives, long-term planning and enterprise design priorities
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and development opportunities for Design Managers and project leaders
  • 10+ years’ experience in architecture, design, architectural standards, or project management
  • 5+ years leading multi-site design projects, including architectural/site plan design, cost control, and quality assurance
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple initiatives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
  • Ability to work full-time at the Restaurant Support Office in Plano, TX
Good to have:
  • Experience in the restaurant or multi-unit retail industry
  • Experience on both the owner and consultant side of design projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp, and Photoshop
  • Professional licensure or accreditation: USGBC, LEED Accredited Professional, or equivalent

Travel Requirements:
