Autodesk is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of D&M Industry Territory Sales to lead sales efforts across a defined industry and territory. This role focuses on driving revenue growth through direct and indirect channels, developing high-performing teams, and executing sales strategies aligned with Autodesk’s business objectives. The ideal candidate will foster collaboration, innovation, and customer-centricity while delivering consistent results, managing forecasting, pipeline, and business reporting, and building strong customer and partner relationships.
Must have:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Drive the team to exceed assigned quotas through effective sales execution.
  • Deliver accurate and timely forecasting, pipeline management, and business reporting.
  • Generate new business opportunities while maximizing existing revenue streams.
  • Oversee the execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with key customers and partners.
  • Guide resellers in developing sales and marketing plans aligned with Autodesk’s industry solutions.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of company initiatives by directing Sales Executives.
  • Provide market insights to internal teams, influencing product development and business strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align resources.
  • Champion the use of CRM tools and Autodesk methodologies.
  • Align team goals with corporate objectives using SMART goals.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement across sales operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets.
  • 4+ years of experience in sales leadership, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Demonstrated success in managing both direct and indirect sales channels.
  • Strong understanding of sales forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable sales plans.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization and collaborating across functions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives, including product launches, trade shows, channel development events, and customer forums
  • Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with key customers and partners
  • Guide resellers in developing sales and marketing plans aligned with Autodesk’s industry solutions
  • Ensure consistent implementation of company initiatives by directing Sales Executives to collaborate effectively with partners
  • Provide market insights to internal teams, influencing product development and business strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align resources and drive customer success
  • Champion the use of CRM tools and Autodesk methodologies to manage and track opportunities
  • Align team goals with corporate objectives using SMART goals to drive performance and accountability
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement across sales operations and supporting functions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets
  • 4+ years of experience in sales leadership, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Demonstrated success in managing both direct and indirect sales channels
  • Strong understanding of sales forecasting, pipeline management, and CRM tools
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business goals into actionable sales plans
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization and collaborating across functions

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $206,200 and $298,430. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
