Job Summary

Motive is seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineering leader to manage and mentor specialized teams (Electrical, Camera, RF) building new products. This role involves influencing product definition, leading during critical moments, and ensuring high design standards and effective problem-solving for NPI projects. The Director will also implement process improvements and partner with TPM and Embedded software teams to achieve performance targets and influence the product roadmap with innovative technology options.

Must Have

  • Manage the Electrical Engineering team, including system generalist engineers and SMEs: RF, camera, power
  • Be a key leader for all NPI projects, ensuring high design standards and effective problem-solving
  • Ensure devices are capable of achieving performance targets
  • Critical partner to the TPM and Embedded software teams
  • Author and implement process improvements for product design, validation, and qualification
  • Influence product roadmap by offering innovative technology options and highlighting major risks
  • 10+ years of experience as a hardware engineering leader
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience managing teams of engineers and being responsible for multiple projects concurrently
  • Very strong domain knowledge in electronics development
  • Experience with board bring up, power supply and signal integrity testing, debug and root cause analysis
  • Experience with various interfaces such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, DDR, eMMC, NAND flash
  • Experience with Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G/5G, cameras, batteries, and other peripherals

You will be responsible for managing and mentoring the Electrical, Camera, RF and other specialized teams building our new products. As an engineering leader you will be able to influence product definition and be called on to lead during critical moments with direct access to the executives of the company.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the Electrical Engineering team, including system generalist engineers and SMEs: RF, camera, power
  • Be a key leader for all NPI projects, ensuring the team is designing to a high standard, solving problems effectively, and that our devices are capable of achieving performance targets.
  • Critical partner to the TPM and Embedded software teams

  • Influence product roadmap by offering innovative technology options and by highlighting major risks.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience as a hardware engineering leader, OEM, ODM, JDM all valuable
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience managing teams of engineers and being responsible for multiple projects concurrently
  • Very strong domain knowledge in electronics development:
  • Experience with board bring up, power supply and signal integrity testing as well as debug and root cause analysis
  • Experience with various interfaces such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, DDR, eMMC, NAND flash etc.
