The role also involves managing risk, chairing cross-functional meetings, and providing regular status updates to business unit executives. The candidate should have knowledge in PCB manufacturing, SMT technology, and Final Assembly and Test.

General Summary:

Director of Hardware Program Management oversees the entire lifecycle of a hardware product, from initial design to mass production and eventual end-of-life, ensuring it meets schedule, cost, and quality requirements. Lead cross-functional teams, manage supplier and contract manufacture (CM) relationships, drive operational efficiency and manufacturing quality.

Plan of Record:

  • Establish plan of record (POR) for the HW platforms and SW program from concept through EOL, working with the HW Platform, SoC, SW, Fab process, Test, and Contract Manufacturers. 
  • Ensure the program meets the financial objectives of the business unit
  • Promotes adoption of processes by applying best practices and identifying and executing process improvement initiatives across the Program Management team.

 

 Execution 

  • Own all the HW and SW program management aspects: HW development activities, HW reference platforms, work in lock step with regional SW teams to ensure successfully SOC bring up, and chipset commercialization.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop program goals, set the prioritization of deliverables, ensure appropriate business processes are followed (e.g., program change management, communication) and drive decisions necessary for on time delivery. 
  • Managing risk is a key component of the responsibility: continuous risk assessment, identifying risks and identifying a mitigation plan that does not impact schedule or cost over runs. Recommend suggestions for process improvement that would improve the efficiency of production and the manufacturing quality.
  • Manage logistics and administrative function by proactively providing required paperwork or forms in advance to avoid logistic delays  
  • Chair the cross functional core team meetings, set program priorities, establish engineering and program reviews. 
  • Knowledge of program management methodology (e.g., planning, scheduling, tracking, execution). This includes the ability to effectively use program management tools to carry out the program management function.  
  • Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to all levels.
  • Provide transparent status on a regular cadence to BU execs.
  • Promote adoption of processes by applying best practices and identifying and executing process improvement initiatives across the core team and CM

Required Competencies:

A successful candidate should have working knowledge in PCB manufacturing, SMT technology, Final Assembly and Test are a plus. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of Program Management or related work experience.
