Bally's Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to join its finance team. This role involves overseeing all accounting functions, with a specific focus on indirect cost reporting for the Interactive business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing indirect costs, leading financial closes, establishing robust SOX-compliant internal controls, and mentoring a team of accounting professionals. The position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and a deep understanding of financial principles.
Must have:
  • Oversee the calculation, reconciliation, and reporting of indirect costs.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.
  • Establish and maintain robust SOX-compliant internal controls.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
  • Work closely with other functions within and outside of Finance.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting and other functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance and a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and full cycle accounting and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Good to have:
  • Experience with SOX.
  • Experience with Oracle.

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions with a particular focus on indirect cost reporting of our Interactive business. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial principles and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Indirect Cost Management:
  • Oversee the calculation, reconciliation, and reporting of indirect costs, including attribution of spend to appropriate geographies, segments and verticals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting and identify areas for improvement.
  • Financial Close:
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, ensuring compliance with close deadlines and internal controls.
  • Internal Controls:
  • Establish and maintain robust SOX-compliant internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Conduct regular reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure the team's success and professional development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other functions within and outside of Finance to understand business drivers and ensure financial statement accuracy.
  • Ad-Hoc:
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting and other functions as required.
  • Provide actionable insights to senior management to support strong financial statement close and ensure successful audit completion and operating efficiency within the team.

And what we are looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in accounting or finance and also a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and full cycle accounting and internal controls (with preference to experience with SOX).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Oracle preferred.
