The Director of Transfer Pricing will spearhead global transfer pricing initiatives, ensuring alignment with OECD guidelines and US-specific regulations. This role involves leading transfer pricing policy adaptations, managing complex financial analyses, and overseeing transfer pricing controversies such as tax audits, APAs, and MAPs. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in transfer pricing and strong business acumen to effectively partner with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Legal, Accounting, Treasury, Business Systems and Business Operations. The Director will collaborate closely with local and regional tax colleagues to drive strategic tax planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy Leadership: Lead efforts to adapt and refine transfer pricing policies, such as supply chain restructuring, IP planning, and business model transformations in response to business and regulatory changes.
- Financial Analysis: Develop and oversee sophisticated financial models to support strategic tax decisions.
- Project Management: Manage and lead transfer pricing projects from inception to completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams including finance and business units.
- Controversy Management: Direct APAs and MAPs, leveraging technical expertise and collaborating with external experts and internal teams. Support transfer pricing audits and controversy management, including interactions with tax authorities and defense of the company’s positions.
- Compliance Management: Ensure robust transfer pricing compliance management, maintaining adherence to global and local regulations and documentation requirements. Collaborate with finance teams on intercompany billing and profit allocation processes. Support financial statement reporting and tax provision requirements related to transfer pricing
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other transfer pricing team members, third party advisors and US GAAP and statutory auditors to ensure optimal performance, consistency and alignment of global transfer pricing strategies.
- Manage and review economic analyses, benchmarking studies, and transfer pricing reports prepared by internal teams or third-party advisors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or JD/LLM preferred.
- CPA or equivalent certification a plus.
- 10+ years of relevant transfer pricing experience in public accounting, law firm, or multinational corporate tax department.
- Strong knowledge of OECD guidelines, U.S. and international transfer pricing rules, and BEPS-related developments.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and manage complex, global projects.
- Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with transfer pricing or tax software tools a plus.
