Job Description

The Technical Game Artist will collaborate with artists, project owners, and developers to bring the game's visual vision to life within the Unity engine. Responsibilities include integrating, validating, and optimizing visual assets, ensuring high performance and efficiency; maintaining artistic consistency; implementing interactive behaviors using provided assets; and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role requires extensive Unity Engine experience (2D/3D scene setup, shader/material/animation integration, particle systems, performance optimization for mobile), proficiency in 3D software (Blender, Maya, or 3Ds Max), and strong problem-solving skills. The artist will optimize assets, resolve software/engine compatibility issues, and guide best practices for asset creation and pipeline efficiency. This position is part of the New Games division focused on creating hit hybrid casual music games.

ABOUT THE TEAM

  • Our New game division’s mission is to create new hit hybrid casual music games that make interacting with music fun and a part of everyone's daily life.
  • This division is responsible for coming up with ideas, developing new games through in-house game development or collaboration with partners, then publishing and continuously improving the marketability and product performance of the games until they meet the company benchmarks for transferring to operation phases.
  • Role of Technical Game Artist is create and integrate visual assets into the Unity Engine, ensuring optimal performance, artistic consistency, and seamless interaction within the game environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Collaborate closely with the Artist, Project Owner, and Developers to bring the game’s visual vision to life.
  • Integrate, validate, and optimize visual assets within the Unity engine, ensuring high performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain artistic consistency by aligning graphics and visual effects with the overall artistic direction of the game.
  • Implement interactive behaviors by utilizing provided assets to achieve the desired gameplay and visual outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive experience with Unity Engine, including:
  • 2D & 3D scene setup, with knowledge of shader, material, animation integration
  • Unity Particle System (vfx)
  • Performance optimization for mobile platforms (Nice to have)
  • Shader Graph creation and optimization (Nice to have)
  • Scripting (C#) for automation, tool development, and workflow enhancement
  • Hands-on experience in 2D, 3D software, industry-standard tools and workflows
  • Ability to use 3D software like Blender (Maya or 3Ds Max) to modeling, UV maping, animating & optimizing
  • Advanced skill-set in Spine Animation
  • Adobe Photoshop/ IllustratorSources control (Git)
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Optimizing assets and rendering performance
  • Identifying and resolving compatibility issues between software and game engines
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including: 
  • Game designers, artists, and developers to ensure artistic vision aligns with technical constraints
  • Providing guidance on best practices for asset creation and pipeline efficiency
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt, with a proactive approach to:
  • Keeping up with new technologies and industry trends
  • Experimenting with new tools and techniques to improve efficiency
  • Experience in AI-driven tools and automation
