Job Description

We are looking for an Editor to join our team in Munich. You will manage a medical journal from planning to print, engaging with experts and authors to refine content. Your responsibilities include reporting from national and international congresses, overseeing production, and collaborating with layout, advertising, and online editorial teams. You will maintain strong relationships with professional societies and editorial boards, ensuring our publications stay ahead of the competition. This role requires a background in medical, scientific, or journalistic studies, professional editorial experience, excellent German and good English skills, and proficiency in Office and typesetting software.
Must have:
  • Manage a medical journal from topic planning to printed edition.
  • Encourage experts to speak and doctors to write.
  • Refine raw text modules into illustrated contributions.
  • Report in word and image from national and international congresses.
  • Oversee magazine production and collaborate closely with layout, ad sales, and online editorial.
  • Maintain direct contact with professional societies and associations.
  • Commission external authors and liaise with editorial management and the editorial board.
  • Monitor competition to ensure market leadership.

Job Details

We are looking for an Editor to join us as soon as possible.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You manage a medical journal in the editorial team from topic planning to the printed edition.
  • You get experts to talk and doctors to write.
  • You refine raw text modules into illustrated contributions.
  • You report in word and image from national and international congresses.
  • You hold the reins of magazine production and work closely with layout, advertising sales, and online editorial.
  • You have a direct line to professional societies and associations.
  • You commission external authors and maintain contact with the editorial management and the editorial board.
  • You know the competition and ensure that we are always one step ahead.

Requirements & Qualification:

  • You have completed a medical, scientific, or journalistic degree and have professional experience in a (medical) specialized editorial office or agency.
  • You have excellent German language skills, enjoy language and didactics, are confident in expression, and master the common journalistic forms of presentation.
  • You have good English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • You are committed, interested, creative, and have a confident demeanor.
  • You are proficient in Office applications and typesetting programs and are willing to learn other IT systems.
