The Opportunity
IGN is looking for an entry-level Project Manager to join our Audience Development and Commerce teams. In this role, you will manage projects from start to finish within IGN’s commerce and tech evergreen content strategy, in close cooperation with Editorial, Commerce and SEO leads.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the project lead on high-search-intent editorial evergreen article production. Key job duties include sourcing freelance experts, editors and writers, and organizing specific content plans across verticals. You’ll work directly with internal and external teams to boost traffic on IGN.com through organic search. You will establish a workflow for ongoing editorial maintenance, production, planning new assignments, tracking data and status reporting, and ensuring content adheres to best practices while meeting deadlines.
- Source and onboard talent and writers, supporting writers by providing clear instruction and clarification
- Create and manage a project budget based on content and vertical type, with the help of editorial leads on assigning cost guidelines adhering to IGN standards
- Work with designer/s for image asset requests and other publishing collateral
- Collaborate with SEO experts to create search-targeted content with audience in mind
- Delegate and review work of our editorial teams to maintain a high-level quality of our published buying guides and evergreen features
- Create and manage editorial and production timetables of ongoing projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams to fix any scheduling conflicts promptly
- Maintain direct communication and build up relationships with freelancers as their main point of contact
- Work with designers and product teams as needed when there are art issues or technical requests
- Ensure content incorporates SEO best practices and is maintained accordingly
- Ensure freelancer invoices are processed and submitted on time
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Hands-on experience using and managing projects in project management systems such as Airtable, Trello or Asana
- Strong communication and organization skills required
- Copy editing experience
- Strong data and analytical skills
- Experience using Excel and Google Sheets to sort and filter data
- Self-starter and self-organizer, capable of identifying and solving problems independently
Nice-to-Haves:
- A BA/BS degree in business, business management, marketing, communications, journalism or a related field is preferred, and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Previous background as a content creator, understanding editorial strategy from start to finish
- Understanding of SEO
- Experience in PR, content marketing and outreach

Salary Disclosure: Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $55-65k, plus incentive compensation (for eligible roles only), 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policy.
