Job Description

This Embedded Engineer role within Google's Pixel team focuses on security and privacy. Responsibilities include participating in design reviews, building secure infrastructure for software development and manufacturing, designing security features for Pixel devices, improving fuzzing, testing, and CI infrastructures. The ideal candidate will have experience in cryptography, application/network/systems security, malware analysis, and embedded systems development. Experience with platform-level vulnerability hardening or testing in Linux, security auditing, and risk assessments is preferred. The role requires expertise in software development using various programming languages and experience with data structures and algorithms.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2+ years software development experience
2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
Experience in cryptography, security, or malware analysis
Embedded systems development experience

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in Computer Science
Linux platform vulnerability hardening/testing
Security auditing and risk assessment experience

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Typically 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Typically 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
Experience in cryptography, application/network/systems security or malware analysis, and embedded systems development.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
Experience in platform-level vulnerability hardening or testing in Linux.
Experience with security auditing and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Design and build scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure to facilitate the entire software development processes and secure manufacturing for Google products.
Research, design, and develop security features for future Pixel devices.
Improve infrastructures for fuzzing, testing, and CI.
