Job Summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Embedded Software Intern to assist with various initiatives and projects. This role offers exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment, focusing on developing and enhancing embedded software for systems like Battery Management, ECUs, Motor Controllers, DC/DC Converters, and HMIs. The intern will also investigate and resolve software defects, ensuring reliability and compliance with industry standards, while gaining foundational understanding of manufacturing and technology best practices.

Must Have

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science, Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related program
  • Reliable transportation to the office

Summer Internship

Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Term: May 18, 2026- August 14, 2026

Position Summary

Plug Power Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated student to join our team. The student will be responsible for assisting in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of your academic studies and interests. In this role, you will gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment which includes developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Software design areas may include but are not limited to: Battery Management Systems (BMS), Electronic Control Units (ECUs), Motor Controllers (MCU’s), DC/DC Converters, and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI).
  • Maintain and enhance existing embedded software to improve reliability, performance, and compliance with updated standards. (UL1998, ISO26262, IEC61508, etc.).
  • Investigate and resolve software defects, field issues, and customer-reported problems, ensuring timely root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Gain a foundational understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in manufacturing and technology.
  • Communication and Collaboration
  • Develop effective communication skills by collaborating with team members and presenting findings to different stakeholders.

Education and Qualification
