We are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist with experience in performance management, conflict resolution and employee relations case management to join our Employee Relations Team. The role involves investigating employee concerns, improving employee performance with managers, providing policy interpretation, and consulting with HR teams and business leadership. This specialist will help identify solutions to complex challenges, enhance work culture by fostering an open, fair, and transparent environment, and contribute to the organization's overall success.
Must have:
  • Conduct ER investigations and cases related to dissatisfaction, company confidential information, critical incidents, policy and practice questions, policy compliance, professional conduct and/or interpersonal conflict.
  • Leverage knowledge of ER best practices, including applicable state/federal/local law and fair and equitable employment practices.
  • Utilize data and information from interviews, analytic tools, surveys, observations, and performance data to make data-based recommendations on ER-related topics.
  • Collaborate with immediate team members, internal counsel, HR teams, and other relevant resources to resolve employee relations-related issues effectively and in compliance with local/applicable laws.
  • Write detailed technical documentation to describe investigation outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Employee Relations, Human Resources, or related work experience (or equivalent).
  • Full-time onsite work (5 days a week) in San Diego, CA.
Good to have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Humanities, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Employee Relations, Human Resources or related work experience.
  • 1+ year of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and case tracking tools and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with senior leaders and influence decision-making.

General Summary:

We are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist with experience in performance management, conflict resolution and employee relations case management to join our Employee Relations Team. The Employee Relations Specialist role is responsible for investigating employee concerns, working with managers to improve employee performance, providing policy interpretation and consulting with HR teams and business leadership with some oversight and guidance from ER management. You will partner in identifying solutions to complex challenges and enhancing our work culture by creating an open, fair and transparent work environment and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

This role is based in our San Diego, CA office and requires full-time onsite work (5 days a week).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Employee Relations, Human Resources, or related work experience.

OR

• Associate's degree and 4+ years of Employee Relations, Human Resources, or related work experience.

OR

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of Employee Relations, Human Resources, or related work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct ER investigations and cases related to dissatisfaction, company confidential information, critical incidents, policy and practice questions, policy compliance, professional conduct and/or interpersonal conflict with support from ER leadership.
  • Leverage knowledge of ER best practices, including applicable state/federal/local law and fair and equitable employment practices to support ER-related projects (e.g., investigations, performance improvement plans, conflict management, etc.) and any follow-up with guidance.
  • Utilize data and information from interviews, analytic tools, surveys, observations, and performance data to make data-based recommendations on ER-related topics (e.g., employee morale, employee engagement, work/life balance, organizational culture, employee turnover, workplace incidences, etc.).
  • Collaborate with immediate team members, internal counsel, HR teams, and other relevant resources to resolve employee relations-related issues effectively and in compliance with local/applicable laws.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of Human Resources and Employee Relations best practices to accomplish work that is aligned with company’s priorities, culture, and vision.
  • Seek essential knowledge of advances in the Employee Relations field and identify opportunities for professional growth and development; share knowledge with others. Identify areas of opportunity for team to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing organization needs and be able to confidently respond to changes and alter approach to meet business needs.
  • Write detailed technical documentation to describe investigation outcomes.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$72,800.00 - $109,200.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
