Payments Solution

As the Engineering Manager, you will build, mentor, and coach a diverse, talented team.

You are comfortable streamlining the team's engineering operations, refining product requirements together with product and merchants and encouraging effective collaboration. As a critical role in the continued success of our organization, you will help to iterate our culture and build an amazing team environment that will create future leaders for Adyen.

What you’ll do

  • Work cross-functionally with design, product, data engineers, engineers and other key stakeholders within Payments.
  • Have a multiplier effect by motivating team members and providing coaching in areas including but not limited to: engineering best practices, scalable architecture design, product roadmap discussions.
  • Maintain an inclusive team culture focused on autonomy, ownership, collaboration, communication, and impact.
  • Set clear individual and team goals that align with our strategic engineering ambitions in close collaboration with the product manager.
  • Create an inspiring and collaborative team environment with an open communication/feedback culture.
  • Recruit new team members in line with the Adyen culture and required skills.
  • Maintain an inclusive team culture focused on autonomy, ownership, collaboration, communication, and impact.

Who you are

  • An energetic self-starter alignment within your team.
  • You have experience with Kotlin or C++.
  • Passionate and experienced with embedded technology.
  • An excellent communicator and team player with strong technical aptitude.
  • Must be willing to travel, both domestically and internationally when required to meet with colleagues and/or merchant teams.
  • Someone who can clearly communicate about technical concepts to non-engineers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software development industry in a fast paced tech environment
  • Full professional proficiency in English

The annual base salary range for this role is $180,000 - $243,000; to learn more about our compensation philosophy, please click here. This role is based out of our Chicago office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
