Medscape is seeking an Executive Director to lead editorial strategy for omnichannel content innovation, focusing on engaging healthcare professionals (HCPs). This role involves partnering with the marketing innovation team to explore and grow audience engagement methods across various channels and platforms. The Executive Director will collaborate with content and marketing leaders, as well as product teams, to operationalize new concepts. The ideal candidate will possess strong innovation, content strategy, and content creation experience, with a keen eye for audience trends, leveraging data analytics, AI, and social listening. They should also have excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, a solid understanding of medicine and science, and the ability to drive business goals while managing multiple projects and priorities in a matrixed organization.

- Lead the strategy for editorial innovation and evolution across our platforms and channels
- Develop test content working with content and design creators
- Model and project potential audience engagement for content.
- Work with marketing innovation to test concepts
- Work across content, product and marketing groups to identify additional content innovation opportunities
- Work across groups to help develop plans to operationalize successful ideas
- Forecast and manage budget
- Ensure that winning concepts fit tightly with business goals and other product and content supporting them -- ensure that the content universe works together without siloed pieces.
- Manage people and teams across a matrixed organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Design or a related field or equivalent years of expereince.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in innovative digital content ideation and development.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience across people and programs.
- Strong storytelling skills and creative thinking about how to engage audiences
- Understanding of how to use AI to help drive optimal creation.
- Experience with a variety of content types: text, imagery, multimedia, interactive and channel-drive types (e.g., social)
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Deep knowledge of health and medical topics and/or with professional/tailored audiences; ideally with some familiarity with healthcare professional needs
