As an Experienced Accountant at CarGurus, you will support a wide range of accounting functions, including the monthly close, SEC and financial reporting, external audits, and SOX compliance. Must Have

• Support key areas of the monthly financial close for timely and accurate reporting.
• Assist in preparing journal entries, supporting schedules, analysis, and reconciliations.
• Review subsidiary financials for completeness and accuracy, ensuring appropriate consolidation.
• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Assist with the successful completion of year-end audits and quarterly reviews.
• Assist with process improvement activities for key areas of the monthly financial close.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 1.5+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA in progress.
• Sophisticated Excel skills.

Role Overview

You will also be able to work collaboratively with other functional groups such as Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Collections.

What you'll do

• Supporting key areas of the monthly financial close to ensure timely and accurate reporting on the general ledger and financial results.
• Assisting in the timely preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules and analysis, and reconciliations.
• Review subsidiary financials for completeness and accuracy, and ensure appropriate consolidation into consolidated financial statements.
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements.
• Assist with the successful completion of the year-end audit and quarterly reviews.
• Assist with process improvement activities for key areas of the monthly financial close.
• Ad hoc projects to be determined as they arise.

What you'll bring

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 1.5+ years of accounting experience, CPA in progress.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Sophisticated Excel skills.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with colleagues in a professional and helpful manner.
• Motivated and phenomenal teammate with the ability to work in a fast-paced, forward-moving environment.
• Ability to learn and understand financial accounting systems/software: NetSuite and/or Concur experience is a plus.
