Rotork, a global flow control and instrumentation company, seeks a Field Service Technician (Electrician - A Grade) for its National Service team. This full-time role involves identifying faults, repairing, testing, and modifying actuators, performing planned maintenance, and conducting mechanical and electrical installations in the field for various industries. The role requires extensive travel and suits a determined problem-solver with strong technical skills in electrical and fluid power systems, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must have:
  • Identify faults, repair, test, and modify actuators in the field
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance
  • Perform mechanical and electrical installations of actuators
  • Complete accurate and technical site visit reports
  • Travel extensively with overnight stays
  • Trade qualified WA Licensed Electrician
  • Experience post apprenticeship in a practical engineering environment
  • Proficient Microsoft Office user (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Attend training for Confined Space, Working at Heights, First Aid
  • Carry out customer inductions, medicals, and inoculations
  • Possess a full valid driver’s license
  • Technical experience with valves, actuators, and digital control systems
  • Good understanding of basic electronics, electrical, and fluid power theories
  • Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
  • Focused on delivering results and meeting customer expectations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and accepts responsibility
  • Applies specialist and detailed technical expertise
Good to have:

Job Description

Reporting to the Service Supervisor, in this role you will be part of a National team of Field Service technicians providing a prompt and effective service to customers within the Water, Power, Petrochemical and other associated Industries.

In this role you will identify faults, repair, test and modify actuators in the field, carry out planned and preventative maintenance, mechanical and electrical installations of actuators and associated retrofit adaption of components, pedestals and drive shafts and completing accurate and technical site visit reports for each job.

This role would suit a determined problem-solver, who can think logically for troubleshooting issues and has the willingness to travel extensively with overnight stays included.

Qualifications

  • Trade qualified. WA Licensed Electrician with EEHA endorsement (EEHA preferred but not essential).
  • Experience post apprenticeship in a practical engineering environment, preferably in a field-based role
  • Offshore experience highly regarded
  • Proficient Microsoft Office user i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Required to attend training courses to attain however not limited to Confined Space, Working at Heights, and First Aid Competence. There will also be a requirement to carry out customer inductions, medicals and inoculations.
  • Able and willing to meet an extensive travel commitment. A full valid driver’s license is required.
  • Technical experience and/or relevant knowledge of valves, actuators and digital control systems
  • Good understanding of basic electronics, electrical and fluid power theories
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and utilization of common test and calibration tools.
