POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance Assistant is part of the Finance team and is responsible for coordinating all direct assistance to clients, ensuring correct grant utilization, program policy adherence, and accurate categorization of expenses. This position will support programs directly by troubleshooting finances and providing accurate and timely reports.
This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until September 30, 2025 and contingent upon funding extension.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Verify fund disbursement requests, ensuring quality data is sent for disbursement, including compliance to fund requirements by each grant, and grant compliance.
- Create and provide finance reports, including overall grant spending and case-level reports.
- Create, maintain, and reconcile case numbers on the financial system.
- Proactively audit case ledgers to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Ensure financial records are consistent among all platforms (e.g., Dynamics, Fast Track/ERP, bank accounts).
- Support program staff in troubleshooting financial requests (status of request, missing, duplicated, etc.).
- Responsible for maintaining bookkeeping supplies (e.g., checks, bank account balances, prepaid cards).
- Accountable for keeping the ZBA (national bank account) and LBA reconciled.
- Perform reclasses.
- Creating invoices for local funders •Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office programs
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability
- Ability to audit accounts, assess accuracy of accounts balances, and initiate appropriate correction actions
- Ability to create reports and presentations
- Ability to learn and use electronic systems
- Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing
- Capable of handling multiple tasks and problems simultaneously
- Able to be flexible with new assignments, meet deadlines, and redirect priorities in a high volume, ever-changing environment
$26.55 - $28.41 an hour
