The Financial Analyst role is crucial for driving the company forward, working on impactful projects, and turning ideas into reality. This position focuses on project accounting governance, ensuring financial discipline, managing backlog data, and consolidating financial information for strategic decision-making. The analyst will collaborate closely with business and Finance leadership to ensure accuracy, implement best practices, streamline processes, and enable efficient workflow for timely reporting, contributing significantly to the company's path and readiness for critical moments.
Must have:
  • Partner with Finance leadership to ensure financial reports comply with IFRS.
  • Anticipate business partner questions on new or changing business trends.
  • Retain industry and company knowledge for financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with business partners for relevant forecasts and analysis.
  • Own ad hoc projects to enhance financial performance.
  • Monitor and track project expenditures across multiple projects.
  • Enforce compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
  • Partner with project managers and accounting teams for accurate cost tracking.
  • Review and validate project financials, including accruals and commitments.
  • Maintain and update project backlog reports.
  • Analyze backlog trends and provide insights on project pipeline.
  • Collaborate with operations and finance teams for backlog accuracy.
  • Consolidate financial data for monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Prepare dashboards, variance analyses, and executive summaries.
  • Forecast, review, and report related variance analysis.

Accountability:

The Finance Analyst owns, analyzes, and supports project accounting governance. This role will play a critical part in ensuring financial discipline across projects, managing and reporting backlog data, and consolidating financial information to support strategic decision-making. This role will work closely with the business and Finance leadership to ensure accuracy, implement best practices, streamline processes and enable efficient workflow to ensure timely reporting.

Main Tasks:

  • Partner with Finance leadership to ensure financial reports comply with IFRS
  • Proactively anticipate business partner questions when new or changing business trends are identified
  • Retain industry and company knowledge to enhance variance explanations and financial reporting
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure forecasts and analysis are relevant and any gaps to financial targets are identified
  • Own ad hoc projects or analysis to enhance financial performance and better understand business drivers
  • Monitor and track project expenditures across multiple projects
  • Enforce compliance with internal controls and accounting standards for project-related financials
  • Partner with project managers and accounting teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
  • Review and validate project financials, including accruals, commitments, and actuals
  • Maintain and update project backlog reports
  • Analyze backlog trends and provide insights on project pipeline and financial impact
  • Collaborate with operations and finance teams to ensure backlog accuracy and completeness
  • Consolidate financial data from various sources for monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting
  • Prepare dashboards, variance analyses, and executive summaries
  • Forecast, review, and report any related variance analysis with the above duties
  • Any other tasks or duties as agreed with FP&A Manager

Qualifications & experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting, finance or related field required
  • CPA required
  • Excellent analytical skills, conceptual thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to thrive in an often fast paced and deadline-oriented business requiring development and refinement of processes and procedures
  • Essential knowledge and experience in Hyperion Planning and Hyperion Enterprise preferred
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Applications required (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
  • Knowledge and experience in Oracle financial suite preferred
  • University degree in accounting, finance or related field required

  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Experience presenting and overseeing financial statements, reports and models
  • Develop reporting and effectively present ad hoc and diverse information to leaders
  • Effectively analyze business financial performance and implement appropriate measures to maximize financial performance
  • Able to work flexible hours (may include weekends and/or public holidays)
  • Some travel required (up to 10%)
