Job Summary

Job Description

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility's structure, equipment, and grounds, covering mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC trades. Performs carpentry and painting for structural alterations. Conducts inspections to prevent breakdowns, utilizing blueprints and specifications. Requires knowledge of standards and potential trade certifications. This is a fully proficient support role, working under limited supervision, and may serve as a resource to others, handling moderately difficult assignments.
Must have:
  • Maintain and repair facility structure, equipment, and grounds, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC.
  • Perform trades work like carpentry or painting for construction, repair, or alteration.
  • Conduct routine inspections to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Utilize blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and specifications for tasks.
  • Possess knowledge of applicable standards/regulations and specific trade certifications.
  • Work under limited supervision, resolving most issues independently.
  • Communicate with internal and external contacts for information exchange.
  • Achieve operational targets within job area with moderate impact on team results.
  • Requires High School Diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary degree with 2 years experience.
  • Comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Able to lift and carry a minimum of 35 pounds.
  • Possess manual dexterity for bending, stooping, squatting, and prolonged standing.
  • May be required to climb stairs.
  • Required to look at computer screens for long periods.

SUMMARY

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility's structure, equipment and grounds, including all trades (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.). Performs trades work, such as carpentry or painting, in the construction, repair or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs or office fixtures.

Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Requires knowledge of applicable standards or regulations and may require specific trade certifications. Fully proficient support individual contributor. Works under limited supervision. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise. Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works under limited supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required.
  • Communicates with contacts typically within and outside the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement. May be a resource to other employees in areas of proficiency.
  • Work may be structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Follows established processes to complete tasks. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations. Resolves most issues.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has moderate impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. Work is of moderate scope, typically on larger, task-related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires fully proficient job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate's degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures. Shall be assigned specific responsibility for Information Security by immediate supervisor or department management. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. Incumbent shall execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
