Job Description

This role is for a Financial Data Scientist who will support financial management in the supply chain. Key responsibilities include analyzing, forecasting, and reporting financial results using advanced analytics and predictive modeling. The role requires strong knowledge of financial statements, experience with SOX/internal controls, and proficiency in modern data science tools to deliver insights and drive decision-making.
Must Have:
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports, including forecasts, budgets, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow documents.
  • Support monthly and quarterly closing processes, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations teams to provide insights into service supply chain costs, risks, and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX, and reporting standards.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with both financial inputs and data-driven scenario modeling.
  • Mine structured and unstructured data using SQL, Python, or R to extract insights.
  • Develop predictive and prescriptive models to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Build dashboards, automation scripts, and reports to improve visibility into key metrics.
  • Apply machine learning and statistical analysis to financial and operational datasets to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and Compliance stakeholders to translate business problems into analytical solutions.
  • Provide recommendations based on financial and analytical findings to key stakeholders.
  • Support SOX and audit requirements through robust data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Finance, Operations, and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of analytics with business priorities.

Financial Data Scientist

Description -

This role sits at the intersection of finance and data science, supporting financial management in the supply chain by analysing, forecasting, and reporting results, while leveraging advanced analytics and predictive modelling. The role requires strong knowledge of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), experience with SOX/internal controls, and proficiency in modern data science tools to deliver insights and drive decision-making.

Responsibilities Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze and interpret financial reports, including forecasts, budgets, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow documents.
  • Support monthly and quarterly closing processes, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations teams to provide insights into service supply chain costs, risks, and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX, and reporting standards.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with both financial inputs and data-driven scenario modeling.

Data Science & Analytics

  • Mine structured and unstructured data using SQL, Python, or R to extract insights.
  • Develop predictive and prescriptive models to identify patterns, risks (e.g., E&O, inventory), and opportunities for optimization.
  • Build dashboards, automation scripts, and reports to improve visibility into key metrics (operational KPIs, cost drivers, financial controls).
  • Apply machine learning and statistical analysis to financial and operational datasets to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and Compliance stakeholders to translate business problems into analytical solutions.

Business Partnering & Compliance

  • Provide recommendations based on financial and analytical findings to key stakeholders.
  • Support SOX and audit requirements through robust data analysis, documentation, and reporting.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Finance, Operations, and cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment of analytics with business priorities.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, internal audit, or data science roles (preferably within supply chain or corporate finance).
  • AI/ML with python and azure cloud.
  • Strong understanding of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting.
  • Understandings on finance concepts like budgeting, forecasting, balance sheets, cash flows.
  • Experience with SOX/internal controls or financial compliance preferred.
