Job Summary
Monzo is seeking a FinCrime & Fraud Operations Investigator for its fast-growing EU team in Dublin. Reporting to the EU Director, this role involves investigating complex AML and fraud alerts, recommending Suspicious Transaction Reports, making high-risk business onboarding decisions, and conducting ongoing due diligence. The investigator will provide financial crime expertise across operational teams, handling fraud escalations and overseeing outsourced partners to maintain high standards in fraud and FinCrime operations.
Must Have
- Investigate complex or high-risk anti-money laundering and fraud alerts
- Recommend Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) for Monzo Bank EU
- Make business onboarding decisions in high-risk or complex cases
- Conduct ongoing due diligence on high-risk accounts
- Provide financial crime expertise and support to operational teams
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal, CEFR C1 level)
- Strong experience in high-risk business banking screening or complex financial crime investigations
- Experience making independent, risk-based financial crime decisions in a regulated firm
- Knowledge of current financial crime landscape in UK and EU

⭐ Our FinCrime & Fraud Operations team
Reporting to the EU Director of FinCrime, and Fraud Operations, we're looking for a FinCrime and Fraud Operations Investigator to join our fast-growing EU team here in Dublin. You will work across different areas such as EDD, PEP reviews, logging STRs, completing complex fraud reviews and products including our current and business accounts and partner with our group data science, data engineering, product and technology teams. You will need to be comfortable handling fraud escalations as well as overseeing our outsourced partners on the highest performing standards in fraud and FinCrime operations.

- Investigating complex or high-risk anti-money laundering and fraud alerts
- Responsible for recommending Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) be made by Monzo Bank EU
- Making business onboarding decisions in high-risk or complex cases
- Conducting ongoing due diligence on high-risk
- Providing financial crime expertise and support to other operational teams across the business
🤩 We’d love to hear from you if…
- You have strong English written and verbal communication skills
- You are fluent in Spanish both written and verbal communication skills (to at least CEFR C1 level)
- You have strong experience of conducting high-risk business banking screening or complex business financial crime investigations
- You have experience making independent, risk-based financial crime decisions in a regulated financial services firm
- You have knowledge of the current financial crime landscape in the UK and the EU, and associated financial crime risks
