What is the job about?

As a Football Systems Operator, you will work in Eredivisie football stadiums in the Netherlands and in the VAR Replay Center in Zeist. You are an essential part of the weekly delivery of our services for the KNVB. With more experience, you will also have the opportunity to work for other competitions, such as UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and matches of the Dutch national team.

Hawk-Eye Innovations is part of Sony Sports and became known for technological support for referees in tennis and football (Goal-Line-Technology (GLT)).

The main task of Hawk-Eye Netherlands is to provide VAR (Video Assistant Referee) in the Eredivisie. Throughout the year, you will be responsible for all aspects of the work, from setting up the system at the stadium to operating the system in the Replay Center in collaboration with the Dutch referees. During the year, you will get ample opportunities to experience other services (such as Player-tracking and GLT). Over time, you will gain more responsibilities and can grow into a role that suits you.

At Hawk-Eye, you experience football up close; together with your colleagues, you truly become part of the match. You will visit many different places, from small stadiums to the largest football temples. It's an adventurous job where you will experience a lot!

What does a typical day look like?

• Setting up Hawk-Eye technology in the stadium, including the monitor next to the field, audio equipment, and connecting network and video cabling.
• Testing the system before the match in collaboration with your colleagues.
• Contact person for the stadium, referees, and TV production on location.
• Working with (video) referees to provide them with the correct replay and best camera angle as quickly as possible, so that the correct decision can be made.
• Monitoring the system during the match and solving any problems.
• Maintaining hardware and software on weekdays.

• The ability to work under time pressure and in stressful situations.
• Willingness to travel domestically and work abroad.
• Willingness to drive VAR buses to stadiums.
• Flexible availability and willingness to work weekends and evenings.
• An education level of MBO level 4 or higher.
