eBay Live is a new way of selling on eBay, where sellers and buyers interact live via video. eBay sellers build trust with buyers through consistent and engaging live streams on eBay Live, expand their customer base, and increase their repeat customer business. eBay buyers can watch online, chat, ask questions, give feedback, bid, and buy during live sales on eBay Live.
We are looking for an experienced Category Senior Manager who will play a key role in the expansion and success of eBay Live. In this position, you will work closely with our sellers, supporting them in accelerating their growth and achieving ambitious GMV targets. At the same time, you will advocate for their interests, develop solutions for challenges, and actively shape the further development of our platform. Your contribution is crucial to building a scalable program that enables sustainable success.
Your Tasks:
- Management of the operational launch and implementation of new strategic initiatives in close cooperation with product, operations, and marketing teams.
- Utilization of market expertise to achieve ambitious eBay Live GMV targets and accelerate innovative programs.
- Definition of seller selection criteria and execution of data-driven analyses to identify and scale successful partners.
- Building and maintaining strategic seller relationships – including onboarding, assortment consulting, live host support, production, sales formats, and marketing.
- Advocacy for our sellers in cross-functional teams, development of new programs and solutions for operational challenges.
- Creation of strategy updates, business cases, and stakeholder communication to ensure transparency and alignment within the organization.
You bring with you:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in team leadership, e-commerce, category management, or consulting with a focus on strategy and program management.
- Experience or strong interest in live selling formats, ideally with expertise in Collectibles or Fashion.
- Deep understanding of success factors on marketplaces and live platforms, especially eBay.
- Strong project management and analytical skills, as well as experience in growth strategies and partner development.
- Strong communication skills in German and English, combined with emotional intelligence and storytelling competence.
- Willingness to travel (even on weekends) as well as a structured, solution-oriented, and implementation-strong way of working.
