Job Description

Valeo, a global tech company, is seeking a Forklift Operator in Hamilton, OH. This full-time role involves comprehensive logistics and material handling duties. Responsibilities include preparing and loading customer shipments, managing raw material receipts, and ensuring accurate stock movements. The operator will also perform basic maintenance on handling equipment, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement. This position is crucial for maintaining efficient and safe warehouse operations within a leading automotive supplier.
Must have:
  • Prepare customer shipments respecting FIFO and safety standards.
  • Load trucks, ensuring quantitative and qualitative control of products.
  • Establish and edit necessary shipping documents.
  • Unload and decontaminate customer bins.
  • Record stock movements in dedicated management applications.
  • Carry out end-of-chain audits and administrative management.
  • Unload, control, and receive raw materials and consumables.
  • Arrange, store, and provision incoming products.
  • Perform administrative reception and manage visual re-order (VRO).
  • Place orders with suppliers, ensure on-time returns, and alert for shortages.
  • Manage subcontracting operations.
  • Ensure controls on handling equipment for safe use.
  • Perform 1st level maintenance and safety start-ups on AGVs.
  • Respect and enforce environmental, energy, health, and safety standards.
  • Comply with current policies and procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes.
  • Respect product rules and quality standards.
  • Be versatile within scope, support, and train colleagues.
  • May partially replace higher qualification jobs and be multi-competent.

Shipping of finished products

Level 1

  • Prepare customer shipments for the next day while respecting stock FIFO.
  • Load trucks while respecting safety standards.
  • Ensure quantitative and qualitative control of products and loading.
  • Establish and edit the documents necessary for shipping.
  • Unload and decontaminate customer bins.
  • Record stock movements in the application dedicated to stock management.

Level 2

  • Carry out end-of-chain audits.
  • Administrative management (delivery note entries/driver reception, computer entry, customer portal, etc.).

Receipt of components, raw materials and consumables

Level 1

  • Ensure the unloading and control/reception (qualitative/quantitative) of raw materials and consumables.
  • Ensure the arrangement/storage/provision of incoming products.

Level 2

  • Administrative reception (entry of delivery notes / driver reception, computer entry, etc.).
  • Etre en charge du visual re order.
  • VRO: based on pick-up orders and physical inventory, he is responsible for placing orders with suppliers, ensuring on-time returns and alerting in the event of shortages.
  • Subcontracting management.

Maintenance/Safety

Level 1

  • Ensure the necessary controls on handling equipment for their safe use
  • Carry out 1st level maintenance, safety start-ups on AGVs or other handling equipment.

RESPONSABILITES

Level 1

  • Respect and enforce all standards in terms of environmental management, energy and health and safety risk prevention and alert in the event of deviation.
  • Comply with current policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process within the team, in particular through the emergence and realization of PAs (proposals for improvement).
  • Respect the rules for respecting the product.

Level 2

  • Be versatile within its scope (according to the versatility criteria defined on the site).
  • Support and train (according to the criteria defined on the site: for example certification procedure or other).
  • Ensures quality standards are respected and opens a QRQC in the event of a problem.

Level 3

  • May be required to partially replace a higher qualification job.
  • Be multi-competent in several areas (according to the versatility criteria defined on the site)
