Job Description

Freelance Game Translators - Chinese to Arabic are needed for a short-term contract until the end of January 2025. The role involves post-editing machine translation and/or proofreading for a Chinese MMORPG. Daily tasks (Sunday-Thursday, 9 AM-6 PM Jordan time) will be performed using MemoQ Web (experience required). Translators will create and maintain a term base. A daily word count target of 6000-9000 Chinese characters is expected. Comprehensive guidelines will be provided. The ideal candidate possesses experience translating RPG/MMORPG Chinese mobile games, excels at post-editing machine translations, has excellent Arabic grammar, and can meet daily deadlines.

Description

We are seeking to hire freelance Game Translators and Proofreaders for a short-term contract lasting until the end of January 2025.
The role involves post-editing machine translation and/or proofreading for a Chinese MMORPG.

Working days/ hours are from Sunday - Thursday 9 AM to 6 PM Jordan time.
The translation tasks will be performed using “MemoQ Web” - Experience with MemoQ is a must.
Translators are expected to create a term base and continuously populate it based on their translation.
Comprehensive translation guidelines will be provided to support your work.
The daily post-editing word count target is set at 6000-9000 Chinese characters - tasks are expected to be delivered daily.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in translation, preferably in the context of RPG and MMORPG Chinese mobile games.
Ability to effectively post-edit machine-translated content to ensure accuracy, coherence, and natural language flow.
Excellent command of Arabic grammar is a must.
Ability to identify and choose the best translation for key terms.
Strong attention to detail to maintain the quality and consistency of translations.
Capable of meeting deadlines and working within a specified time frame.
