Job Description

As a Game Designer at Yellow Brick Games, you will collaborate with various teams to develop game progression, enhancing hero move sets and abilities for a 3rd person action-RPG game. Your responsibilities include designing progression systems, implementing character progression, iterating features, and ensuring a balanced economy loop. You'll need to have strong communication skills and be comfortable setting up and fine-tuning xp systems, loot tables, and character stats.
Good To Have:
  • Experience using blueprints in Unreal Engine.
Must Have:
  • 5+ years of game design experience, taking games to completion.
  • Experience with AAA or AA 3rd-person action titles.
  • Passion for designing progression systems.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.

Yellow Brick Games is hiring a game designer to join our team of experienced developers working on an exciting new IP. In this role, you will work closely with engineers, animators, artists, level designers, game designers, and our game director to develop various aspects of our game progression.

Yellow Brick Games is based in Quebec City, Canada, and we are looking for candidates based in the Quebec province. Responsibilities

  • Leverage our core game mechanics to design progression systems enhancing our hero move set and abilities for a 3rd person action-rpg game.
  • Collaborate with other team members to implement character progression systems that feed the combat experience.
  • Alongside other team members implement and iterate these features from prototype to polish form.
  • Partner with level designers and the game system team to ensure a balanced yet engaging economy loop.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a game designer and taking games from concept to completion.
  • At least one shipped AAA or AA 3rd-person action title in the PC or console space.
  • Experience and passion for designing progression systems.
  • Comfortable in setting up and fine tuning xp systems, loot tables, and the stats of an improving playable character.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Experience using blueprints in Unreal Engine, a plus.
