Job Summary

Job Description

The General Labor position involves safely handling lumber products and ensuring materials meet customer and company standards. Key responsibilities include moving, securing, and stacking lumber, labeling materials accurately, and applying tags. The role also requires using and troubleshooting a staple gun, banding and bundling materials, and ensuring correct quantities are strapped and labeled. Maintaining an organized work area, recording production, and assisting other teams are also essential duties. Participation in safety and continuous improvement programs is expected.
Must have:
  • Move and secure lumber products and other materials
  • Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Label material based on type, size, and count
  • Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment
  • Band, bundle and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Record production on production sheets
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
Good to have:
  • Manufacturing or lumber experience
  • Working knowledge of basic math

  • Stacks finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Labels material based on the following specifications: type, size, and count
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required
  • No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
