The GIS Data Analyst L2 Support will join the Servicedesk team, focusing on geographical data analysis for the Digital Technical Map information system. Responsibilities include analyzing and modifying geographical data, creating spatial queries, and participating in GIS system development. The role requires expertise in SQL, spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial), and spatial data control, working with large datasets. The analyst will also help resolve production and integration environment issues.

Position at Ness Czech s.r.o.

We are looking for a reliable support for the Servicedesk team, who has experience with geographical data analysis. You will have the support of our 60-member team, which has been successfully working for some time on the delivery of the Digital Technical Map information system. This is a complex long-term project that includes a number of components and processes, from primary data storage through the management of all geospatial data to portal applications.

What will you do as an analyst?

You will be part of the Service Desk team, which is in contact with the customer environment and helps analyze problems arising in the production or integration environment.

You will analyze and modify geographical data, create spatial queries and participate in the development of GIS systems.

We work with large amounts of data in spatial databases and need your help especially with creating spatial queries, topological checks and data modifications, so you will need:

  • Knowledge of SQL and PLSQL.
  • Knowledge of spatial databases (PostGIS, Oracle Spatial) DDL, DQL, DML at the level of spatial databases.
  • Experience with spatial data control, topology, conversion, transformation.
  • Ability to create analytical outputs.
  • Knowledge of QGIS or other GIS desktop client.
  • Ability to visualize spatial data and interpret results.

If you can also:

  • Python or another scripting language,
  • use the GIT versioning system,
  • and have at least a marginal knowledge of geodesy or GIS,
  • know the FME product,
