About the Role

We are hiring a GPU Performance Verification Engineer to join our team in Cork, focused on verifying and optimising the performance of next-generation Adreno GPUs—central to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platforms, including the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite and Snapdragon X Elite. This role is pivotal in ensuring our GPUs deliver industry-leading performance across gaming, compute, and AI workloads, while maintaining power efficiency and architectural scalability.

Why This Role Matters

The Adreno GPU is a cornerstone of Qualcomm’s graphics innovation. With the launch of Snapdragon X Elite, Adreno entered the high-performance compute space, delivering up to 4.6 TFLOPS of GPU compute and supporting real-time ray tracing, 240 FPS mobile gaming, and AI-powered graphics enhancements

The sliced architecture enables independent shader processor-based cores, improving concurrency and work distribution.

In mobile, the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Elite—formerly known as Gen 4—marks a major leap forward. It integrates the 2nd Gen Qualcomm Oryon CPU and Adreno 830 GPU, delivering over 30% performance uplift compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 . The platform supports Unreal Engine 5.3, Nanite, and Chaos Physics, enabling film-quality 3D environments and lifelike object interactions on smartphones

AI Leadership in Adreno GPUs:

Adreno GPUs are now tightly integrated with Qualcomm’s AI Engine, enabling real-time, on-device AI use cases across vision, language, and audio. The Snapdragon 8 Elite delivers up to 45% faster AI performance, supporting multi-modal GenAI workloads such as:

  • Real-time semantic segmentation for camera enhancements.
  • AI-powered ray tracing and denoising for immersive gaming.
  • Low-latency translation and voice interaction on-device

What This Role involves:

This role centers on verifying the performance of Adreno GPUs powering flagship Snapdragon platforms. You’ll work on:

  • Identifying and resolving architectural bottlenecks in GPU pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with GPU Design and Architecture teams to understand graphics concepts, performance trade-offs and propose optimizations
  • Evaluate and optimize advanced GPU features such as ray tracing, context switching, and AI acceleration to ensure peak performance and efficiency
  • Driving performance closure using trending graphics, compute, and AI benchmarks and real-world scenarios.
  • Leverage Python-based data analytics to extract insights from large-scale simulation and emulation datasets.
  • Collaborating across hardware and software teams to optimize power, performance, and area (PPA).
  • Ensure compatibility and performance of AAA games across current and next-gen gaming systems

Minimum Qualifications:

4+ years in ASIC Design and/or Verification with a strong foundation in System Verilog/UVM.

Proficiency in any of the simulation or emulation platforms for design exploration and debug.

Solid understanding of Computer/GPU architecture, memory subsystem and pipeline analysis.

Desirable:

4+ years of overall experience in CPU/GPU/NPU domains.
