Job Description

Lead the architecture, design, verification, and performance analysis for Digital Signal Processor (DSP) development across Qualcomm's diverse product portfolio including Mobile, Machine Learning, Automotive, and IoT. This role involves determining processor architecture, micro-architecture, logic design, and all performance/power aspects. Apply advanced microprocessor design concepts like multi-core, multi-threaded, out-of-order execution, cache memory, high-speed ALU, and low power design. Evaluate instruction set architecture to implementation, focusing on custom instruction sets for machine learning and modem. Utilize system tools for simulation, emulation, test generation, and design synthesis to ensure correctness and optimize design tradeoffs.
Must have:
  • Lead architecture, design, verification, and performance analysis for DSP development.
  • Determine processor architecture, micro-architecture, logic design, and performance/power aspects.
  • Apply high-performance microprocessor design concepts (multi-core, multi-threaded, out-of-order, cache, ALU, low power).
  • Evaluate instruction set architecture to implementation, including custom instruction sets for ML/modem.
  • Utilize system tools: architectural simulators, digital design simulators, emulators, test generators, design synthesis.
  • Master's degree with 3 years experience OR Bachelor's degree with 7 years experience in related field.

General Summary:

This individual leads, plans, synthesizes ambiguous or conflicting requirements and performs the complex responsibility of the architecture, design, verification, and performance analysis for Digital Signal Processor (DSP) development for Qualcomm Mobile, Machine Learning, Automotive, IoT, and other products. Determines processor architecture, micro-architecture, logic design, verification, and all performance and power aspects. Applies high-performance microprocessor design concepts including multi-core, multi-threaded, out-of-order, cache memory, high-speed ALU, and advanced low power design. Evaluates all aspects of the design process from instruction set architecture to implementation. Custom instruction set is needed to achieve industry-leading results in machine learning and modem. Applies tools and techniques to evaluate design tradeoffs and verify design correctness. Uses system tools such as architectural simulators, digital design simulators and emulators, test generators, and design synthesis. Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings and communicates and implements a development plan.

Will accept a Master's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field and three (3) years of experience in a related occupation. Will also accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field and seven (7) years of progressive experience in a related occupation. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training or experience.

Pay Range: $154,000.00 - $231,000.00/year
