At Apple, the Platform Architecture group connects hardware and software into a unified system. This role involves collaborating with engineers to build and deploy prototype systems, ensuring product performance. The team seeks engineers to integrate and support new HDL simulation technologies for silicon development and verification, working with leading silicon engineering teams on next-generation chips for millions of users worldwide.
Must have:
  • Migrate existing designs and testbenches from simulation and emulation platforms
  • Develop software tools for co-simulating designs on multiple platforms
  • Support design and verification teams in the use of this new technology
  • Work independently and manage deliverables to different teams
  • Collaborate with engineers across Apple to build and deploy forward-looking prototype systems
  • Integrate and support new HDL simulation technologies for accelerating the development and verification of silicon
Good to have:
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience architecting simulation compilation and verification flows
  • Experience architecting HDL testbenches for functional verification
  • Experience integrating new third-party verification IP to simulation or emulation platforms
  • Experience migrating internally developed verification IP to new simulation or emulation platforms
  • Experience managing vendor relations with simulation or emulation vendors
  • Comfortable exploring unfamiliar codebases and quickly integrating solutions
  • Experience with multithreading or multiprocessing software

Apple’s Platform Architecture group is seeking engineers to integrate and support new HDL simulation technologies for accelerating the development and verification of silicon. You will work with our world leading silicon engineering teams on next generation chips, which end up in the hands of millions of users worldwide.

  • Migrate existing designs and testbenches from simulation and emulation platforms
  • Develop software tools for co-simulating designs on multiple platforms
  • Support design and verification teams in the use of this new technology
  • Work independently and manage deliverables to different teams
  • Occasional travel to development groups in the US

Key Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar
  • Experience programming in Verilog / SystemVerilog for RTL design or testbench
  • Experience programming in C/C++
  • Experience scripting in Python, Lua or similar scripting language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience architecting simulation compilation and verification flows
  • Experience architecting HDL testbenches for functional verification
  • Experience integrating new third-party verification IP to simulation or emulation platforms
  • Experience migrating internally developed verification IP to new simulation or emulation platforms
  • Experience managing vendor relations with simulation or emulation vendors
