Job Description

Nine is seeking a Head of Workplace Relations to join their People & Culture team. This role involves leading a team that provides seamless and impactful P&C support to leaders. Responsibilities include overseeing manager advisory, safety, employee relations, and industrial relations to ensure user-friendly, effective, and person-centered services. The Head of Workplace Relations will optimize people solutions, foster a compliant and positive workplace, lead and mentor the Manager Advisory team, provide expert advice to leaders, manage complex employee and industrial relations cases, ensure policy application and legal compliance, guide performance management, and utilize data to inform P&C strategy. The role also involves advocating for cultural transformation and collaborating across P&C functions.

Job Description

Join Nine as our Head of Workplace Relations and lead a vital team delivering seamless, impactful P&C support to our leaders. 

You'll oversee manager advisory and safety, employee relations, and the application of industrial relations, ensuring our services are user-friendly, effective, and person-centred. This role is key to optimising people solutions and fostering a compliant, positive workplace.

Day to day you will:

  • Lead and mentor the Manager Advisory team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring consistent HR support.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to leaders on diverse employee matters, acting as a trusted point of contact for complex situations.
  • Oversee employee and industrial relations, ensuring compliance, managing complex cases, and leading enterprise agreement negotiations.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and legal compliance, developing accessible resources for leaders.
  • Guide leaders in effective performance management, promoting continuous feedback and development.
  • Utilise data and insights to identify trends, inform P&C strategy, and drive continuous improvement in services and policies.
  • Advocate for cultural transformation and collaborate across P&C functions to deliver seamless service, leveraging HR technology for an enhanced manager experience.

You'll be a highly skilled and supportive HR professional with a talent for guiding leaders and fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace. We're looking for someone who consistently applies best practice and genuinely champions a positive employee experience.

What you’ll bring: 

  • Deep expertise in HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide expert advice and coaching.
  • Proficiency in employee relations, including conflict resolution and investigations.
  • A talent for problem-solving, assessing complex situations and developing appropriate solutions.
