Job Description

The HR Manager will be the point person for approximately 30 employees based in Moldova, handling day-to-day HR operations to ensure a supportive environment. Responsibilities include managing onboarding and offboarding processes, coordinating performance evaluations, monitoring team morale, handling employee documentation, and ensuring compliance with local labor laws. The role also involves using HRIS/ATS systems, Notion, Google Sheets, and Asana. The HR Manager will need to handle difficult conversations and have strong organizational, communication, and time management skills. This role is crucial in maintaining a positive and compliant work environment.

  • Tech-savvy with HRIS/ATS systems, Notion, Asana, etc.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Fluency in Romanian and Russian, English B2+.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the go-to HR person for ~30 Moldova-based employees: answer questions, resolve issues, and maintain a supportive presence onsite
  • Involve in onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Coordinate and document performance evaluations and promotions
  • Regularly monitor team morale, flag concerns early, and escalate risks or patterns
  • Handle employee documentation: contracts, role changes, vacation tracking, probation status, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and internal HR policies in partnership with legal/accounting
  • Maintain accurate records and update internal tools (e.g., Asana, spreadsheets, trackers)

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of HR experience in a small/mid-sized IT company
  • Proven ability to work effectively with all-level employees: anticipating needs and resolving issues
  • Hands-on experience managing onboarding, offboarding, and performance reviews
  • Strong experience handling HR documentation, contracts, and coordinating with legal/accounting teams
  • Understanding of Moldovan labor law and compliance-related HR practices
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable using tools like HRIS/ATS systems, Notion, Google Sheets, Asana
  • Experience having difficult conversations (like performance issues, behavioral correction)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Fluency in Romanian and Russian, English B2+
